Engine Oil /Motor Oil/ Engine Lubricant is a substances which is used for the lubrication of Internal Combustion Engines and various mechanical  parts in the industries.

Why is Engine Oil used

Basically Engine Oil Used to lubricate the Engine moving parts. It minimize the wear and tear of engine parts and run the engine smoothly. It also cool the engine by evacuating heat from the engine. 

Engine Oil standards :

There are many standards for Engine oil which are:
API, AECA, JASO, OEM, ILSAC, ASTM
API- American Petroleum Institute used in United States of America,Canada, Central and South America
AECA- Association des Constructerues d’Automobile used for Passenger cars and heavy duty Diesel engine across Europe
JASO- Japan Automobile Standard’s Organization used for Japanese Motorcycles
OEM- Original Equipment Manufacturers
ILSAC- International Lubricating Standards Approval Committee for Japanese and American car manufacturers in America 
ASTM- American Society for Testing and Materials.
