Bangladesh University of Engineering & Technology (BUET) is the pioneer in establishing Petroleum and Mining Engineering Department in Bangladesh. In the early 1995 BUET, PMRE started its journey with the aim to support the nation by enriching human resources for the oil and mining sector.  Following BUET, Shahjalal University of Science & Technology (SUST) opened Petroleum and mining Engineering in the year 2004. In the sequences of establishing Petroleum and Mining Engineering Jessore University of Science & Technology (JUST) and Chittagong University of Engineering & Technology (CUET) started their journey in 2009 and 2010 respectively. The world renowned universities and organizations supported this university through different packages and programs.
