Example: Globe valve, Butterfly valve, Check valve, gate valve etc. Applications of the valves, maintenance parameters etc. Other topics related with valves like Strainer, Reducer, Flanges, bend, elbow , Union , etc.  are required to learn with their applications.

> Pumps: Pump is a very important equipment in modern industries. As a mechanical engineer once should know details of pump including their operation, maintenance and applications. Different pumps are used in different applications in water, and other hydraulic product line to convey them in desired destination. Centrifugal and Positive displacement pump ( Lube pump, Progressive cavity pump, Screw pump, gear pump , Piston pump etc.) are widely used in modern factory operations. pump seal is one of the most important things to understand .

> Conveyor : Conveyor system is used to carry the finished product as well as other products to one place to another. Conveyor system comprises with conveyor belts, motor, pulley/chain drive, conveyor frame etc. Types

> ETP : Effluent Treatment Plant is one of the waste treatment method which is designed to purify industrial waster water for its reuse and safe water to environment . The PH, DO, COD , BOD , TDS parameters and the terms used for.

> WTP: Water treatment Plant is the process  used in industry to improve quality of water to use in the desired end use application. Widely improved water is used for Boiler, Process area etc.

> TPM: Total Productive Maintenance is a team based system which constantly improve the effective of machinery equipment for increasing plant and equipment reliability . Main pillars of TPM are Focused maintenance, Autonomy, Quality maintenance, Planned maintenance, Safety , health and environment, Training and education .

> Compressor: Compressor is one the most important utility equipment used in different industries. Types of Compressor, Compressor regular maintenance, troubled maintenance, Spare parts etc are necessary information required while preparing for the interviews.

> Boiler: Boiler is another most important utility equipment in various industry. Generally Boiler is used to get steam for using in different application . Steam has direct and indirect use in the plant. Boiler mountings, accessories , Burner system, regular check list, maintenance schedule, Boiler water parameters are important topics. Condensate recovery system , Exhaust gas boiler , are also related with boiler.

> Chiller: For process area and machinery uses Chiller is used to maintain to control the room temperature. Air Handling Unit, Chiller regular check list, regular maintenance , Chiller types, Air Handling Unit (AHU) , diffuser, Refrigerant types and characteristics  etc are important topics. Working principle of Chiller, Block diagram , etc are theoretical topics .

> Cooling Towers: Cooling tower is used to cooling the water of chiller, hydraulic system etc. Different types of cooling towers are used in different uses. Cooling tower maintenance list, cooling tower types, cooling tower load calculation are important topics.

> PLC : Every modern industries are now using PLC based machinery for smooth , accurate and less time consumption. How PLC works , troubleshooting knowledge will enhance job prefer-ability.

> QMS : Quality Management System, ISO 17025:2017 documentation list .

> Workshop Practice: Lathe Operation, Milling Operation, Drilling Operation, Grinding operation, drills and bits,  Bending Operation, Shaper operation, HSS cutting tools, Tapping tools  etc.

> Welding Process: Different types of Welding process like arc welding, TIG welding etc.

> Painting : In industrial sector painting is very important issue. Painting code, painting surface preparation methods , painting process SOP etc. are important topics.

> Fire Safety Equipment's: Now-a-days fire safety is top most urgent issue for factory operation. Knowledge on NPFA, Audit requirements for Accord alliance, & Nirapom , BNBC , ISO 14001 details are the topics.

> Nitrogen Generator : In food industry Nitrogen generator are used largely. Flow diagram of Nitrogen Generator, Working principle, maintenance schedule etc are important.

> Metal : Different types of metal like Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, are commonly used metals in industries. Topics: Metal properties, application

> Bearing : In almost every rotating equipment bearing is used. Topics: Bearing sizing, bearing types , application, bearing changing methodology etc.

> Maintenance Tools : There are many tools are used for maintenance work. Topics: Tools identification, tools application etc.

Engine oil standards

Engine Oil /Motor Oil/ Engine Lubricant is a substances which is used for the lubrication of Internal Combustion Engines and various mechanical  parts in the industries.

Why is Engine Oil used

Basically Engine Oil Used to lubricate the Engine moving parts. It minimize the wear and tear of engine parts and run the engine smoothly. It also cool the engine by evacuating heat from the engine.

Engine Oil standards :

There are many standards for Engine oil which are:
API, AECA, JASO, OEM, ILSAC, ASTM
API- American Petroleum Institute used in United States of America,Canada, Central and South America
AECA- Association des Constructerues d’Automobile used for Passenger cars and heavy duty Diesel engine across Europe
JASO- Japan Automobile Standard’s Organization used for Japanese Motorcycles
OEM- Original Equipment Manufacturers
ILSAC- International Lubricating Standards Approval Committee for Japanese and American car manufacturers in America
ASTM- American Society for Testing and Materials.

Engineering Learning Part 01 (Otto Cycle)

Today we will discuss about Otto cycle.
Otto Cycle: The Otto cycle is a set of processes used by spark ignition internal combustion engines (2-stroke or 4-stroke cycles).
Otto Cycle is named after Nikolus Otto (Nikolaus Otto a German Scientist developed Otto Cycle (Idealized Thermodynamic Cycle) for Internal Combustion Engine. Nikolus was born in 1832 and died 1891).

The Otto cycle is constructed from:
1) Top and bottom of the loop: a pair of quasi-parallel and ISENTROPIC PROCESSES (Friction less, adiabatic reversible).

2) Left and right sides of the loop: a pair of parallel ISOCHORIC PROCESSES (constant volume).

The Cycle Process-
1-2: Compression Stroke. Adiabatic Compression of air/Fuel Mixture in the cylinder. Isentropic Compression.
2-3: Ignition of the compressed air/fuel mixture at the top of the compression stroke while the volume is essentially constant. Constant Volume Heating.
3-4: Expansion (Power Stroke). Adiabatic Expansion of the hot gases in the cylinder. Isentropic Expansion.
4-1: Exhaust stroke. Ejection of the spent, hot gases. Constant volume cooling.

What is Isentropic Processes?
In thermodynamics, an isentropic process is an idealized thermodynamic process that is both adiabatic and reversible. The work transfers of the system are friction less, and there is no transfer of heat or matter.

What is an Isochoric process?
An isochoric process, also called a constant-volume process, an iso volumetric process, or an isometric process, is a thermodynamic process during which the volume of the closed system undergoing such a process remains constant.

thoughts can drive plane

Tekever, Champalimaud Foundation, Eagle science and Technische Universitat Munchen four firms Brainflight project is a hope for the next generation that thoughts can drive plane/drone. They  have successfully shown how a pilot can take off, fly, twist and turn, and land a drone using just his thoughts. The flight involved an electroencephalogram (EEG) cap and specially-designed software - and it could one day lead to passenger planes being controlled using only brainwaves. The brain-to-computer interface (BCI) software was developed as part of the Brainflight project. These researchers claim the technology could help make soldiers more mobile and remove the need for ground stations to send instructions to vehicles flying overhead.Edited from Dailymail.uk
