Barkina Faso, Formerly known as
Upper Volta is a landlocked country in the African Region. The Country got
independent from Fance in 1960. The total of 10,714 Sq Mi (27400 sq km) is its
land area. Approximately 17,275,115 population lives in the Barkina Faso. The
capital of the country is Ouagadougou. The unit used for transaction is CFA
Franc. The religions status of Barkina Faso is Islam 50%, indigenous
beliefs 40%, Christian (mainly Roman Catholic) 10%. . The literacy rate is
21.8%.
